AUTHENTIC, DYNAMIC and EMOTIONAL IMAGES

Edie Lees is a young and creative photographer based in Lymm, Cheshire.
Growing up with her Mum working in the music industry involved being immersed in the music scene from a young age,
with lots of time spent at gigs and festivals. This naturally led to her own passion for photography being centred around
and merging with her passion for music, as that was the environment she was surrounded by.
Quickly gaining a reputation for her eye, especially among bands around the same age, she has done promo shoots and
created track art for friends and teenage bands including The Guest List and Khynan Rhys, who’s debut
single Closed Doors will be out in September. Along with one for big sister, Jess Lees who has a track out on 30th August.
Many hours spent hanging around empty venues before show time and sitting backstage has given Edie a unique chance
to observe the industry from behind the scenes. This is a feature of her series of images with Violinist, Eve Mattinson
which reflect the hidden depths of the artist, what goes on beneath the surface and behind the face that is shown to the public.
Her live work includes bands such as The Zangwills, Slow Reader’s Club, The Guest List and Warrington’s own Lunar Youth and 32 tens.
She has photographed for music publications and her work has already been published accompanying a review in All Music Magazine (Europe and USA). One of her images was also shortlisted for a national music photography award. Having just completed her A ‘Levels, Edie is keen to develop and continue to pursue photography and camera work in a wider capacity. This includes being a qualified camera drone pilot, a skill she will be putting to use for a forthcoming music video.
